Copyright & takedown

ROS: Origin is an independent, fan-made revival project created by fans of the original Rules of Survival. We respect intellectual property and act on valid notices quickly — where a notice is valid, material is removed rather than argued over.

Put “DMCA” or “Copyright” in the subject line. Rights holder notices are handled ahead of everything else, normally within a few days.

01

Our position

All trademarks, names, logos, characters, and other intellectual property associated with the original game remain the property of their respective owners. This project is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or officially connected to the original developers, publishers, or rights holders. If you own or represent rights and something here concerns you, tell us — we would rather fix it than fight about it.

02

What to include in a notice

01 Identification of the copyrighted work or trademark you are claiming.
02 The exact URL, or a description precise enough for us to locate the material.
03 Your name, organisation, contact details, and your relationship to the rights holder.
04 A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised.
05 A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate.
03

What we do next

We acknowledge receipt, review the claim, and where it is valid remove or disable the material — usually within a few days of a complete notice. If the material was submitted by a player or creator, we tell them what was removed and why. Repeat infringement by a user results in their access being suspended.

04

Counter-notice

If you believe your material was removed in error, reply in the same thread with a counter-notice: identify the material, explain why you have the right to use it, and include your contact details and a statement that the information is accurate. We will review it and restore the material if the claim does not hold up.

05

Using our own material

Original artwork, writing, and branding created by Obsidian Games for this project belong to us and our contributors. Screenshots, clips, and press use are welcome with credit; do not use our logos in a way that suggests partnership or endorsement. Press enquiries can go to the same address.
